About The Position

The Operations Manager leads the strategy, development, and performance of manufacturing departments and external operations partners, ensuring alignment between daily operations and Fanatics Commerce's broader business priorities. This leader drives staffing optimization, continuous process improvement, and a culture of accountability while serving as a key liaison across supervisors, team leads, and athletes to resolve issues and align on goals. The Director of Manufacturing Operations delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing management experience, with a demonstrated track record of leading large-scale operations and driving measurable performance outcomes.
  • Minimum 1 year of direct people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable to high standards.
  • Proven ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into effective courses of action that improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, Internet, Mainframe, FMS, and DMS, with the ability to gather detailed and accurate information and enter it into internal operating systems.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and handle difficult situations with composure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear direction and feedback to employees at all levels and report performance metrics to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Human Resources, senior leadership, and external operations partners to align priorities, enforce compliance, and drive strategic business outcomes across the manufacturing function.
  • Serve as a liaison between supervisors, team leads, and athletes to gather insights, surface issues, and ensure cross-functional alignment on operational priorities.
  • Communicate and enforce company standards and policies across all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of accountability and consistency.
  • Mentor and develop supervisors into strong, effective leaders through targeted coaching, training, motivation, and incentive programs that maximize individual and team performance.
  • Manage staffing levels and schedules to optimize productivity; plan, assign, and direct daily workflow to meet operational and service-level requirements.
  • Lead staffing forecasts and workforce planning to support seasonal and peak business demands, ensuring the team is positioned to perform at the highest level year-round.
  • Consistently meet or exceed service levels and quality expectations while operating within defined financial parameters to deliver a best-in-class fan experience.
  • Propose and implement creative, cost-effective solutions that directly improve the customer experience and elevate fan satisfaction.
  • Gather a deep understanding of customer requirements and translate them into operational processes that drive quality, speed, and reliability.
  • Track and analyze program effectiveness, reporting productivity and performance metrics to senior leadership to ensure ongoing alignment with fan-facing commitments.
  • Identify and implement solutions that drive revenue growth and reduce operational costs, applying strong analytical skills and resourcefulness to complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and position Fanatics Commerce for scalable growth.
  • Demonstrate proactive, creative problem-solving across all areas of manufacturing operations, turning operational insights into actionable improvements.
  • Leverage digital tools, data analysis, and emerging technologies to continuously evaluate and elevate manufacturing performance.
