About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team in Fort Hood, TX. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating contract performance work requirements, assisting with policy formulation, managing daily operations, and planning resource utilization to align with company strategy and goals. The position focuses on improving operational systems, processes, and policies to enhance management reporting, information flow, business process, and organizational planning. The Operations Manager will also manage and increase the effectiveness of support services, contribute to long-term planning and operational excellence, and play a key role in short and long-term organizational planning as part of the management team. The role requires independent thinking, the ability to manage multiple projects, successful collaboration with customers, and staff leadership skills. The individual will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and utilizing company resources for project objectives and managing Army STAMIS systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in program management/logistics.
  • 7+ years of management and supervision experience; at least 2 of which are related to U.S. Army STAMIS systems.
  • Proficient in standard business office software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of contract performance work requirements.
  • Assist with formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organization's mission - specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services, through contributing improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.
  • Identify, acquire and utilize company resources to achieve project technical objectives.
  • Manage the operation of Army STAMIS systems.
