About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Operations Manager with a strong work ethic, high standard of integrity, and a decisive, safety-conscious approach. This role involves implementing process improvements to ensure efficient business operations. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring all business operations are conducted efficiently, effectively, and profitably. This includes analyzing and managing processes, solving problems, and continuously seeking productivity improvements. The role also involves managing, scheduling, and training co-workers, as well as assisting with recruiting, developing, and coaching the Profit Center team. Additionally, the Operations Manager will analyze sales and inventory performance, implement strategies to increase sales and efficiency, manage assets, and improve ROI and profit sharing. They will review daily reports, address issues promptly, evaluate inventory management for accurate physical inventory, and resolve customer, vendor, and carrier complaints. Ensuring compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety regulations (including OSHA and DOT) is crucial. The Operations Manager will also safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets and complete required training programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years operations experience
  • 1+ year leadership experience
  • Able to drive for company business.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Possess leadership qualities and is viewed as a leader.
  • Effectively use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain customer and vendor contact files and appointments, and to analyze performance data.
  • Possess and maintain product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market.
  • Be able to create and nurture a positive team environment, training and inspiring all co-workers to do their best work to achieve the highest levels of customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Be able to build and maintain influential relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  • Be able to interpret performance report data to determine the effectiveness of business operations and take appropriate action to adjust processes to maximize profitability.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of and able to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT and other material handling and facility safety regulations.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used for business operations.
  • Be able to quickly develop a comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to safely operate a forklift and all material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Effectively read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all business operations are being conducted in the most efficient, effective, and profitable manner.
  • Analyze and manage the processes used in all aspects of the Profit Center’s business, solve problems as they arise, and continually investigate the possibility of productivity improvements.
  • Manage, schedule, and train co-workers to ensure efficient, effective, and profitable operation of all job functions.
  • Assist with recruiting, developing, training, coaching, and managing the Profit Center team.
  • Analyze sales and inventory performance reports and implement appropriate strategies to increase sales, improve operating efficiencies, manage assets, and increase return on investment and profit sharing.
  • Review daily sales and inventory reports and address issues immediately.
  • Evaluate inventory management reports regularly to ensure an accurate and efficient annual Physical Inventory.
  • Resolve all customer, vendor, and carrier complaints and disputes quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure the Profit Center conducts all business in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain and insist upon a safe working environment in compliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA, and any other applicable regulations.
  • Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
