About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring site wide operations are performing at agreed upon service levels at multiple locations and driving continual improvement in safety, logistics, operations and internal support processes. This role involves serving as the primary point of contact with the customer’s senior management team, ensuring compliance with site specific policies and regulations, and maintaining consistent communications between MAU and customer staff. The Operations Manager will also support and foster a safety culture, meet regularly with the customer for support and performance reviews, and manage crises. Additionally, this role includes talent management, supervising and developing direct reports, setting standards for recruitment in coordination with the MAU Recruiting Team, and being on call 24/7 for emergencies. The position also oversees the administration of OSHA Required Safety Programs, develops training materials, implements the Site Safety Excellence Plan, facilitates the Safety Action Improvement Process, and performs daily Safety Gembas. Other duties include overseeing safety training, validating powered industrial equipment training, documenting training, updating the Cross-Training Matrix, providing coaching, interfacing between customer and MAU leadership, providing resources for special projects, evaluating project performance, attending departmental meetings, and tracking/reporting PO billing & Site Expenses. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR High school diploma with 5-7 years of experience of management in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the customer’s senior management team.
  • Ensure that MAU is in compliance with site specific policies and regulations.
  • Ensure that consistent communications are maintained between MAU and customer staff.
  • Ensure that department specific metrics are meeting target.
  • Support and foster a safety culture that is engaged and focused on achieving “Zero Incidents”.
  • Meet with customer regularly for support, budget and site specific performance review.
  • Crisis Management.
  • Talent Management / ability to Supervise and develop 4 direct reports.
  • In association with the MAU Recruiting Team – set standards for screening, interviewing and provide hiring recommendations for leadership, training and administrative support positions.
  • On call 24/7 for any emergency including both personnel injury and property damage.
  • Coordinate training and development plans for the leadership team.
  • Maintain consistent administration of MAU policies to mitigate legal exposure.
  • CIP of safety process and training documents.
  • Oversee administration of OSHA Required Safety Programs.
  • Oversees and helps develop training material, standard work, and other documents to help standardize processes and keep employees safe.
  • Implement Site Safety Excellence Plan.
  • Facilitate Safety Action Improvement Process.
  • Live safety by identifying hazards, correcting harmful conditions, and improving MAU’s safety culture, particularly in your division and team.
  • Perform Safety Gembas on a daily cadence.
  • Oversee Safety Training.
  • OSHA Annual Required Safety Training.
  • Production Post Validation.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Training Validation.
  • Document the training.
  • Update the Cross-Training Matrix.
  • Document the training in Bullhorn.
  • Provide coaching to all Associates.
  • Interface between customer leadership and MAU leadership.
  • Provide resources for both short and long term special projects.
  • Evaluate project performance for process improvement recommendations.
  • Attend specific departmental meetings as required.
  • Track and report PO billing & Site Expenses.
  • Conduct & train 4 Step Problem Solving process.
