About The Position

The Operations Manager directs and coordinates the daily activities of the facility and warehouse to ensure that the quality and accuracy of shipping and receiving of products and the provision of services meet and exceed customer expectations. This role involves developing and implementing company policies, managing and mentoring supervisory personnel, and collaborating with leadership to ensure service excellence. The Operations Manager also oversees the supervision of facility and warehouse Team Members, coaches and trains staff, and monitors operations for efficiency and effectiveness. A key aspect of this role is driving continuous improvement in operational systems, processes, and policies, while also managing quality control, damage reduction, and staffing levels. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational delays, facilitating mill shut-downs, and managing waste stream processes. The Operations Manager will also participate in staffing, payroll, and administrative functions, handle customer complaints, and champion the company's core business values. Reliable attendance and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of previous work experience in a high volume, fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Green Belt.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Access, and Word).
  • Ability to master internal computer systems that include SAP.
  • Ability to work the required schedule and arrive at work on time and work alternative schedules to accommodate the needs of the business.
  • Ability to flex schedule to interact with all shifts or coverage as needed (am and pm shifts).
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to select and use appropriate communication methods.
  • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates daily activities of the facility and warehouse to ensure quality and accuracy of shipping and receiving.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of company policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Manages, mentors, and motivates supervisory personnel.
  • Collaborates with leadership, engineers, quality representatives, and Core leaders to ensure services meet and exceed expectations.
  • Manages team engagement and services among customers.
  • Oversees supervision of facility and warehouse Team Members.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops hourly Team Members and front-line managers.
  • Monitors and audits operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Audits the shift supervisors' daily LSW (Leader Standard Work).
  • Reviews daily production schedules for warehouse and production areas.
  • Initiates, innovates, and drives continuous improvement in operational systems, processes, and policies.
  • Directs and coordinates quality control and damage reduction.
  • Determines and implements staffing levels to achieve customer success.
  • Conducts performance evaluations.
  • Conducts disciplinary follow-up as required.
  • Anticipates and determines causes of delays in shift operations and takes appropriate actions.
  • Reports delays promptly to department managers and production planning, estimating delay time and resumption of operations.
  • Facilitates mill shut-downs and sets up labor plans.
  • Captures and submits monthly special project hours.
  • Participates in quarterly housekeeping and MIP (Major Impact Prevention) inspections.
  • Interviews and recruits applicants for promotable positions.
  • Coordinates waste stream processes, projects, and contingency plans.
  • Fills in, in the event of an absence of a shift supervisor or GM.
  • Drives a forklift.
  • Participates in staffing and payroll administrative functions.
  • Participates in department TSA (Transport Safety Assessment) and makes recommendations for process improvement.
  • Handles customer complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Champions Holman’s core business values.
  • Maintains reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed by the General Manager of the customer.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $90,000-$100,000
