About The Position

A well-established produce grower/packer/processor is searching for an Operations Manager to join their team in South Texas. The Operations Manager will lead key operational functions and optimize the systems and processes that support our client’s growing business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in produce, agriculture, food processing, or another perishable-goods environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, production, or supply chain systems (Famous Software highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, and cold chain operations.
  • Experience improving labor efficiency using workforce systems (Redzone experience preferred).
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with budgeting and cost-management experience.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Agriculture, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Direct experience with: Famous Software (ERP)
  • Redzone (workforce productivity)
  • Coupa (purchasing)
  • Paylocity (HR & payroll)
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement training.

Responsibilities

  • Direct operations across specialty crop and value-added production, warehousing, shipping, logistics, food safety, quality, occupational safety, and maintenance.
  • Implement operational strategies and initiatives aligned with the COO’s strategic direction.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to drive operational accountability and performance.
  • Partner with Sales, Food Safety, HR, Finance, and Executive Leadership for cross-functional alignment.
  • Oversee efficient production and packing operations, ensuring quality, speed, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Utilize Redzone to monitor workforce productivity, improve throughput, and reduce downtime.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts across facilities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with our service vendors.
  • Manage procurement workflows and purchasing activities using Coupa, ensuring accuracy, cost controls, and timely supply availability.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts when needed.
  • Improve system processes, drive adoption, and collaborate on technology enhancements.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility to the COO and leadership team.
  • Ensure operations meet FSMA, HACCP, USDA, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Food Safety & Quality teams to uphold best-in-class operational and product standards.
  • Support risk management, audits, and emergency preparedness planning.
  • Lead and develop operations teams across multiple facilities and functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with HR to support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management using Paylocity.
