About The Position

Stabilised Pavements Group is focused on delivering pavement construction, rehabilitation and maintenance solutions that are cost effective, sound in design to deliver longevity and environmental sustainability. These solutions are based on extensive engineering expertise, technology and systems that ensure the highest standards of quality, occupational health, safety and environmental management. Our Head Office is on the Central Coast, New South Wales with additional depots in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Townsville, Perth and Hobart. We have been operating for 40 years and employ over 250 people. As our Tasmanian business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide operational leadership while playing an active role in project delivery across the state. The role combines strategic operational management with hands-on construction leadership, supporting project teams to consistently deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will provide leadership and support across multiple projects while helping build capability within our project delivery teams. You will work closely with Project Engineers, Supervisors and Foremen, providing guidance, technical support and practical construction leadership from project planning through to completion. This role will be majority field based, working directly with site teams to support delivery and mentor operational personnel in the field.

Requirements

7+ years civil, earthworks and pavement project delivery experience.
Proven leadership capability as a Senior Foreman or Supervisor in civil construction.
The ability to mentor and develop operational teams.
A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A willingness and capability to work hands-on as the Supervisor for select projects, while supporting broader project teams.
Experience in civil construction, roadworks, pavement rehabilitation, stabilisation, or similar infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of civil construction and pavement rehabilitation projects, including taking a hands-on Supervisor role for select projects.
Provide coaching and mentorship to Foremen, Operators and Supervisors.
Promote consistent operational and construction best practice across the business.
Support project planning, programming, resourcing and mobilisation activities.
Assist with construction methodology, operational decision-making and problem solving.
Coordinate resources, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
Support tender reviews and operational planning activities.
Reinforce SPA’s commitment to safety, quality, environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
