About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations at the Superior Tube Collegeville facility. This position provides leadership to production supervisors and manufacturing teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality tubing products. The Operations Manager is accountable for achieving performance objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and cost while driving continuous improvement throughout the operation. The role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, and Human Resources to support business growth, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience leading production teams in a highly regulated or precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and performance management systems.
• Proven ability to lead through supervisors and drive accountability at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with production planning, KPI management, budgeting, and labor management in a union environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
• Experience in metals, tubing, medical device, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple production departments and shifts.
• Drive a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Establish and monitor operational performance metrics including throughput, productivity, quality, on-time delivery, scrap, and labor utilization.
• Develop production plans and allocate resources to meet customer demand and business objectives.
• Lead and develop production supervisors, leads, and hourly employees to improve organizational capability and accountability.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, capacity, and process performance.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools to eliminate waste and improve operational effectiveness.
• Support annual operating plans and manage departmental spending within budget targets.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements.
• Participate in capital planning, production expansion projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Foster employee engagement and maintain positive employee relations in a manufacturing environment.
