About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and executing all union operations within their assigned market for Inline Drywall Washington. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role ensures disciplined operational execution, strong financial performance, stable labor relations, and profitable growth. The Operations Manager oversees the successful delivery of both internal development projects and third-party work, while maintaining high standards in estimating accuracy, cost control, productivity, and workforce management. This position plays a critical role in maintaining Inline’s reputation for reliability, professionalism, and quality.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in a senior management role, with strong proficiency in estimating and an established client base
  • Proven experience managing union labor and working within collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong background in estimating, job costing, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise between parties
  • Proficiency in construction management systems and operational reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Market Operational Leadership: Maintain full operational responsibility for the assigned market. Lead day-to-day construction operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Provide leadership and direction to project managers, estimators, and field supervisors. Conduct regular job cost reviews, manpower planning meetings, and operational check-ins. Identify and resolve operational challenges quickly to minimize risk and disruption. Provide consistent performance reporting and forecasting to the Director of Operations.
  • Project Execution & Performance: Ensure all projects are accurately estimated and properly scoped. Oversee project staffing to ensure uninterrupted workflow and optimal productivity. Maintain strict cost control and protect gross margin performance. Monitor job cost reports, labor productivity, and schedule adherence. Ensure consistent quality control, safety compliance, and site professionalism. Collaborate closely with clients, general contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Business Development & Market Growth: Identify and pursue profitable project opportunities within the market. Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and industry partners. Ensure disciplined pricing that balances competitiveness with margin protection. Support contract negotiations and review terms to mitigate risk. Maintain a balanced backlog to stabilize workforce planning and union manpower utilization. Contribute to the long-term strategic growth of Inline Wall and Ceilings in the region.
  • Union & Labor Management: Maintain productive and professional relationships with union representatives. Ensure compliance with all collective bargaining agreements and labor regulations. Coordinate workforce planning to meet project demands. Monitor labor productivity and manage crew performance. Address labor-related issues proactively to prevent operational disruption. Represent Inline Wall and Ceilings professionally in union discussions as required.
  • Financial Accountability: Own the P&L performance of the assigned market. Ensure disciplined estimating practices and pricing review processes. Monitor gross margins across all active and completed projects. Provide accurate forecasting and financial reporting. Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies. Drive accountability and financial transparency within the team.
  • Systems, Process & Operational Discipline: Implement and uphold standardized operating procedures established by company leadership. Ensure consistency in job costing, scheduling, manpower tracking, and reporting systems. Maintain organized documentation and risk management processes. Promote operational discipline and continuous improvement. Support scalability as the company expands into new markets or increases workload.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing operational staff. Mentor project managers and supervisors to build leadership depth. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and performance. Ensure strong communication between field operations and executive leadership. Support succession planning and long-term organizational growth.
