Requirements

  • Strong process improvement leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of using process improvement methodologies such as LEAN Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Self-driven, goal-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple activities.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field preferred. High School diploma/GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ direct management experience.
  • Experience with quality management systems.
  • Experience with the development of new products.
  • Demonstrated experience and results in leading organizations through change.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to include CNC, Mold Fabrication, Custom Production/casting, quality control, shipping, and maintenance.
  • Accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics versus specific goals.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset in safety, quality, and production.
  • Collaborate with Director, Molded Products and General Manager to develop and meet plant goals while providing guidance to operations.
  • Develop and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and strategic planning process.
  • Monitor plant performance and proactively identify efficiency opportunities in process and/or equipment and implements solutions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all phases of operations.
  • Promote excellence in housekeeping; establish LEAN events (5S) to reduce effort and cost to maintain housekeeping.
  • Own setting the staffing requirements that are needed to meet production schedules and meet the plant’s cost initiatives.
  • Interview, hire, train, and mentor the operations supervisory team.
  • Work to promote good employee relations by interacting with employees frequently, responding to basic inquiries and helping to resolve problems or complaints. Escalate non- routine employee issues to Human Resource Manager.
  • Set clear duties, responsibilities, objectives, and accountability for all Production teams including supervisors, team leads and operators, providing ongoing feedback and evaluating their performance.
  • Provide regular performance reports and metric updates to local and corporate leaders.
  • Review projects for cost estimates on labor, staffing and material requirements.
  • Order production and raw material supplies.
  • Collaborate with sister Molded Products plants and participates in the Architectural Specialties Plant Manager’s network.
