The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all associates understand and use safe work practices, completing safety observations, and determining the daily workload based on production volume sent by corporate. This role involves monitoring inventory movements, evaluating staffing needs to meet daily demand, and reassigning associates to different positions based on available resources and skill sets to ensure shift work is completed within established times. The Operations Manager works with Operations Supervisors to set associates up for success and achieve or exceed key performance indicators, safety, performance, and budget targets. This position also involves receiving and reviewing inbound truck schedules and emails from train companies regarding incoming trains, scheduling the day accordingly, and alerting the Operations Coach. Expediting the receiving, picking, and shipping of priority product, resolving warehouse management system issues, and addressing inventory discrepancies are also key functions. Effective communication with associates and Performance Instructors regarding business objectives and current issues is crucial. The role works through Operations Supervisors to build an environment of engagement and inclusion, identifies and assists in implementing process improvements, and may travel to other facilities to assist when needed. Additionally, the Operations Manager assists associates with HR-related issues, participates in hiring, sets goals, monitors performance, provides resources and support, assists supervisors with management-level issues, and provides coaching and developmental opportunities to prepare associates for upward promotion.
