The Operations Manager will supervise day-to-day operations and administrative activities, acting as a liaison between the client and the company, and facilitating problem-solving between departments. This role ensures safety practices and applicable regulations are obeyed by all employees, and coordinates routinely with the Maintenance and Safety Managers to ensure facilities and buses are maintained to KTA safety and environmental standards. The position also focuses on fostering positive employee/labor relations, administering department discipline, and resolving employee grievances. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules for operators, dispatchers, and supervisors, understanding and applying relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and labor/management agreements. The role shares responsibility for scheduling, employee performance evaluation, run-cutting, rostering, the driver bidding process, and staffing. A key focus is on operational KPIs to manage service quality, operational expenses, and explain budget variances, while also supporting the Safety Department in managing injury and collision claims. The Operations Manager will set accurate schedules for routes, minimize route drive times and mileage, and provide timely operational and financial reporting. Ensuring purchases follow company processes, analyzing situations, implementing solutions, and preparing reports and correspondence are also core functions. The role involves interacting with the union, monitoring operations, coordinating service delivery with the Assistant General Manager, and ensuring service to the public remains on schedule and professional.
