Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation of a grain elevator.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the grain industry including grading factors, elevator equipment and processes, and effective product storage management.
  • Practical knowledge in mechanical repair.
  • Experience in team management or supervision, demonstrating effective leadership abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills with aptitude for learning and adapting to new software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in managing the overall performance, maintenance, and repair of the elevator.
  • Overseeing quality control measures on incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring the maintenance and compliance of a safe working environment.
  • Supervising the daily operation of the elevator.
  • Managing the quality control and blending of grain.
  • Supervising Facility Assistants to ensure business needs are executed safely, efficiently and profitably.
  • Managing the facility safety program and actively working to create a strong safety culture.
  • Overseeing food safety compliance.
  • Managing regular maintenance, scheduling and repair on facility equipment.
  • Supporting the procurement of grain and sales of crop inputs.
  • Ensure reasonable business practices are followed consistently.
