About The Position

F.M. Kuzmeskus Inc. (TravelKuz) is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all operational aspects of a multi-service, fast-paced operating environment. This position will manage 30+ drivers, 30+ daily routes, 30+ vehicles, Transportation Coordinators, Mechanics and Trainers. The role involves serving as the primary contact to school districts, ensuring strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Effective and frequent communication with staff is crucial to ensure employees have the necessary resources to meet daily operational tasks successfully. The Operations Manager will partner with safety leaders to establish and maintain a ‘safety-first’ culture, and will be responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics. Additionally, the role includes interviewing, hiring, and training new transportation coordinators/supervisors, identifying and cultivating internal talent for next-level positions, preparing monthly work schedules, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors by fostering a positive work culture. Ensuring all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing, and working with fleet maintenance to keep vehicles operational and safe are also key responsibilities. The role also involves reviewing and preparing billing and payroll each month.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in operations management, business administration, or related field.
• Progressive work experience in a work environment that is fast paced.
• Management of hourly staff, and responsible for managing metrics.
• Proficient experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Maintain a good driving record and enjoy working in an environment that is 100% committed to supporting our students.
• Self-motivated, show initiative and have a strong work ethic.
• Must be comfortable with early-morning hours.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and can successfully supervise and direct teams.
• Effective customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and like solving problems.
• Maintain a very high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Must show ‘grace under pressure during extremely busy times.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact to the school districts and ensure strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the school districts.
• Effective and frequent communication with staff ensures employees have available resources to meet the daily operational task successfully.
• Partners with safety leaders to establish and maintain a ‘safety-first’ culture.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.
• Interview, hire, and train new transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of internal talent for next-level positions.
• Prepare monthly work schedules.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors by driving a positive work culture.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Work with fleet maintenance to keep vans and buses operational and safe.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.
