About The Position

This supervisory position oversees daily operations within a Carvana Inspection Center. The role manages the vehicle reconditioning process and directs at least five leads and up to 70 frontline associates in a lean manufacturing environment. The manager is responsible for maintaining continuous improvement and high associate engagement while meeting quality, production, and cost objectives. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check. Requirements

Five years of management experience in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience leading and developing associates.
Proven ability to achieve project deliverables and company metrics.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record in the last three years.
Ability to maintain high-volume, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
Strong analytical and decision-making ability.
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to work overtime and weekends.
Ability to walk up to three miles each day.
Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently stretch, reach, walk, stoop, push, and/or pull in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or contain vehicle-maintenance fumes or odors.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently; most lifting is from knee to shoulder height, with other lifting required from various levels.
Ability to use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Must pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
Mentor and hold direct reports accountable, and support succession planning through coaching, leadership development, training, and performance management.
Participate in developing and executing strategic plans, goals, and objectives aligned with company objectives.
Ensure adherence to operating standards, systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Create a work and team environment that supports positive communication, team cohesion, and adherence to Carvana’s Values.
Recruit, select, orient, and train supervisory staff.
Ensure progression-path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
Train and mentor leads and associates by providing competency-based feedback.
Ensure adequate production capacity for each line and assist with production planning.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss-prevention guidelines.
Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics.
Engage and positively reinforce the team regarding quality, production, and cost objectives.
Participate in and lead problem-solving and continuous-improvement efforts.
