About The Position

The 2nd Shift Operations Manager will oversee daily operations at an automotive site, focusing on production, logistics, supply chain, customer service, and facility management. This role involves identifying inefficiencies, implementing process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and leading operational teams. The manager will also be responsible for budget and resource management, performance monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards, and collaborating with various departments to align operations with business objectives. Strategic planning for long-term operational growth and crisis management are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Industry-specific experience is highly valued (e.g., automotive manufacturing).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven track record in process improvement and cost reduction
  • Deep understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management
  • Proficiency with operations software (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Accellos), data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset
  • Strong project management capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), PMP, APICS/CPIM, or equivalent certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, including production, logistics, supply chain, customer service, or facility management (automotive site).
  • Identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements, and deploy Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams, handling hiring, performance reviews, training, and succession planning.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, control costs, and ensure optimal allocation of staff, equipment, and materials.
  • Establish KPIs, track metrics (e.g., customer KPI’s), and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies. Manage risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with customer, site leadership, HR, IT, and other departments to align operations with overall business objectives.
  • Contribute to long-term operational strategies, including scaling operations, facility expansions, or technology implementations.
  • Lead response to operational disruptions, supply chain issues, or emergencies.
