About The Position

The Operations Manager role at Walmart focuses on driving the financial performance of the facility, ensuring sales and profit goals are met, and controlling expenses. This position involves supervising and developing hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating their performance. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining quality assurance, and overseeing safety and operational reviews. A key aspect of the role is modeling and demonstrating exceptional customer service, resolving customer issues, and driving process improvements. The position also involves coordinating and completing job-related activities, building relationships with stakeholders, and promoting a culture of belonging and continuous learning. The Operations Manager is expected to act with integrity, uphold company values, and contribute to Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures by holding associates accountable, analyzing reports, implementing asset protection and safety controls, maintaining quality assurance, and overseeing safety and operational reviews.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, evaluating performance, and providing recognition.
  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards.
  • Assists the store manager in driving the financial performance of the facility by ensuring sales and profit goals are achieved and controlling expenses.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
