Operations Manager (Connecticut)

Base Power CompanyNorth Haven, CT
Onsite

About The Position

Base is America’s next-generation power company, focused on deploying distributed batteries to create a resilient and abundant electricity system. We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead our Connecticut market. This foundational leadership role will oversee the entire operational footprint in the Northeast, including warehouse and materials operations, field installation crews, and local market strategy. The position is responsible for the end-to-end execution of installing Base systems in homes, from initial parts arrival to final customer battery energization. The ideal candidate will possess a "builder’s mindset" and be comfortable in diverse settings, from the warehouse floor to job sites and strategic planning meetings. This role is crucial for establishing long-term success and setting standards for service delivery.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in high-growth operations (e.g., Uber, Amazon, DoorDash), military leadership, or field service operations (e.g., Solar, HVAC, Electrical).
  • Comfortable with data to diagnose problems.
  • Functional understanding of (or interest in) the technical aspects of residential electrical systems and NEC compliance.
  • Takes extreme pride in their work; no task is too small, and no problem is too complex to tackle.
  • Thrives in "messy" environments and has a proven track record of building something from the ground up or stabilizing an underperforming region.

Responsibilities

  • Own all operational outcomes for Connecticut, including installation volume, warehouse throughput, quality, safety, and customer experience.
  • Translate company-wide goals into local execution plans.
  • Identify "signals" in the data to improve local performance and design processes that can scale from 10 to 1,000+ installs.
  • Supervise warehouse operations, ensuring 100% inventory accuracy (FIFO), WMS hygiene, and seamless material staging for field crews.
  • Manage and mentor field installation crews and electrical leads, ensuring all work meets NEC standards and Base’s rigorous quality and safety protocols.
  • Build and maintain critical relationships with local utilities (e.g., Eversource & United Illuminating), permitting offices, and municipal stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Act as the primary link between Connecticut operations and Base’s central teams in Austin (Supply Chain, Engineering, and Product) to provide feedback from the field.
