About The Position

The Consulting Operations Manager at RSM partners with leadership to advance strategic implementation and operational effectiveness. The role supports the practice by collaborating across functional areas and developing solutions that optimize resource and financial performance, minimize risk, and maximize client experience. The manager identifies process-improvement opportunities and implements solutions, oversees new service-line development and systems implementations, and provides ongoing operational support. The position also supports consulting leaders by translating strategic vision into action, managing key initiatives, facilitating communication, and contributing to growth strategies. It uses performance reports and systems to analyze financial results, monitor profitability and plan attainment, and provide leaders with business insights. The manager develops and tracks implementation plans and performance measures, helps ensure initiatives are delivered on time and within budget and scope, and provides hands-on oversight to troubled initiatives when needed. The role also supports change management and oversees the performance, development, coaching, and exit counseling of assigned operational team members. RSM describes most roles as hybrid, with team members aligned to an RSM office and meeting in person when it supports clients, teams, development, or relationship-building. Some roles may be virtual or primarily on-site depending on role requirements, team priorities, and client needs.
