About The Position

The DH Pace Company, Inc. in Bloomington, IL is seeking an Operations Manager. This role involves working directly with skilled field installers and service technicians to ensure timely scheduling and completion of customer projects, aiming to increase revenues from new construction and service work for various door types. The position requires a passion for operations, project management, sales, and customer service, with an emphasis on team building. The Operations Manager will assist with employee/job scheduling, technical troubleshooting, and problem resolution. They will manage day-to-day operations with a sense of urgency, ensuring staff adhere to company best practices, policies, and procedures. A full understanding of operational and sales procedures, customer satisfaction, staff management, and profitability is expected, with the goal of meeting or exceeding annual financial budgets. The role includes calling on customers for sales opportunities, preparing bids and quotes, and ensuring efficient routing and scheduling to maximize department capacity and customer service. The manager will also be responsible for improving individual performance through coaching and performance reviews, leading safety and department meetings, and achieving financial objectives set by senior management. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience managing field and office personnel, sales, projects, budgets and financials, ordering materials, and interfacing with customers and sales staff.
  • Must be willing and available to Train up to three (3) different times during first 90-days in St. Louis, MO.
  • Proficient with Windows based programs and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate operational data, processes, procedures, financial results, survey feedback and other metrics to determine cause/effect relationships with ability to isolate key information and discern the impact of process or procedural changes.
  • Possess an ability for technical applications and mechanical systems.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of references, employment verifications, background check, and drug screen required in advance of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with employee/job scheduling and technical/mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolutions.
  • Manage day-to-day operations with a high sense of urgency and fast-paced culture, ensuring staff perform required daily tasks according to company best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Gain a full understanding of operational and sales procedures, customer satisfaction, staff management, and profitability to meet or exceed annual financial budget/forecast.
  • Call on customers for sales opportunities to increase sales revenues and prepare bids and quotes.
  • Ensure proper pool management, correct routing efficiencies, and daily schedules maximize department capacity while providing a high level of customer service.
  • Effectively manage to ensure positive results on all Length of Service reporting and metrics.
  • Ensure productive SODD and Ageing meetings happen weekly and are effective.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and developing employees; improve individual performance of the field force through regular coaching of managers and yearly performance reviews.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, ensuring the highest quality service has been provided; occasional travel to jobs sites/customers as necessary.
  • Effectively develop and lead monthly safety meetings, department meetings, and financial reviews and achieve financial objectives set forth by senior management team.
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
