Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in airport operations or complex mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance teams and contractors
  • Strong understanding of automated conveyor systems, PLCs, motors, and control systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions during system failures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Must be available for on-call rotations and emergency response
  • May require working non-standard hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Airport security clearance will be required
  • Physical requirements include walking through airport facilities, standing for extended periods, and occasionally working in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all maintenance activities for the baggage handling system, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize system downtime and maximize operational efficiency
  • Supervise and mentor a team of conveyor technicians and mechanics
  • Monitor system performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
  • In conjunction of upper management, coordinate with airport operations, airlines, and other stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and system outages
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and operational requirements
  • Respond to system emergencies and implement contingency plans when necessary
  • Analyze maintenance data and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management
