About The Position

The Operations Manager works closely with the Program Manager on the planning, development, and maintenance of a staff schedule to ensure operational readiness and coverage for 24/7/365 operations, supports the PM with special requests and projects, and leads all contractors on shift in performance of the client’s mission. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Homeland Security or Business, or a combination of education, technical training, and equivalent experience.
  • Additional (2) two years of experience may be substituted with an Associate’s degree.
  • Additional (4) four years of military and/or operations environment experience may be substituted with a high school diploma.
  • Must have between three (3) and six (6) years of related experience.
  • Experience in the following areas that support operational readiness and execution of a program:
  • Experience leading and supervising a mid-sized team or multiple small teams simultaneously, (approximately 10 subordinates total, is preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and improving a team’s performance, professionalism, and commitment to the mission.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating report quality, providing feedback, and achieving improved team results.
  • Demonstrated experience using metrics to improve team and individual performance.
  • Active TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and assess a vast amount of highly technical information in a time constrained environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office; including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and other general software applications.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment.
  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience developing, updating, and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the watch floor schedule to ensure proper 24x7 coverage using available resources.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reports of metrics and statuses of the Watch and Warning team to be briefed to federal customers.
  • Conduct reviews of reporting from the staff to verify compliance with standards and address all discrepancies.
  • Develop recommendations for a monthly meeting to present to a council of federal and contract staff to improve operations and workflows.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control staff to enhance documentation and support for watch staff.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for the federal watch officers; intaking feedback on contract staff performance and behavior.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with staff to deliver performance feedback and support professional growth.
  • Investigate any issues impacting watch floor deliverables that fall short of standards, implementing corrective actions to strengthen staff performance.
  • Coordinate the inclusion of new or changing operations requirements as needed by the federal teams.
  • Periodically verify account statuses to ensure operational readiness and assist those individuals without access.
  • Provide support in the coordination and execution of all Watch and Warning activities and requirements and advise the PM of any identified risks.
  • Complete ad-hoc taskers or short projects from contract or federal leadership as needed.
  • Regularly address prioritized issues/actions as they arise.
  • Other duties as assigned.
