Operations Manager
About The Position
New Castle Building Products (NCBP) is a full-service distributor based in White Plains, NY, operating with seven core values: Caring, Urgency, Teamwork, Honesty, Accountability, Flexibility and Passion. NCBP operates with these core values across its 20+ locations from Massachusetts to Baltimore. The Metals location in Mountainside, NJ is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee a 30,000 SF Manufacturing facility. Prior experience in the sheet metal industry is not required, but is considered a plus. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong social orientation, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment involving numerous relationships.
Requirements
- Must have a can do, customer service first attitude
- Ability to navigate digital MRP systems
- Experience in the architectural, construction, or design industry
- Familiarity with the CAD programs
- Familiarity with automation and integrated machinery
- Commitment to the Company's mission and its core values
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the sheet metal industry
- Prior experience with sheet metal fabrication and metal roofing
Responsibilities
- Schedule daily manufacturing work, ensuring machine utilization is optimized and production deadlines are met using MRP software.
- Manage shop floor personnel to meet individual productivity metrics.
- Review production paperwork for accuracy prior to releasing to the shop floor.
- Oversee CNC programming team.
- Communicate with customers, colleagues, and vendors with regards to all aspects of the production workflow.
- Check and receive inbound materials.
- Check and coordinate delivery of outbound materials.
- Maintain production standards in accordance with the Quality Assurance Policy. Perform intermittent and final quality checks.
- Maintain a culture of Safety. Adhering to NCM Safety Policies.
- Assist in troubleshooting of machinery and coordinate external vendors/manufacturers repair teams as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
