Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical degree required (engineering or related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities, utilities, or plant operations
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation systems (BAS)
  • Required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support operation of campus building automation and critical utility systems
  • Respond to alarms, system deviations, and equipment issues in real time
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for issue resolution
  • Ensure systems operate within defined performance and compliance parameters
  • Serve as first responder for site events
  • Initiate responses and escalations per site procedures and processes
  • Monitor building automation systems
  • Identify abnormal trends and initiate corrective actions
  • Ensure timely documentation and communication of events and system status
  • Support shift reports, and operational metrics tracking
  • Lead and direct shift personnel, contractors, and support staff
  • Ensure proper shift handoffs and communication of critical information
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and “safe by choice” behaviors
  • Provide real-time decision-making during off-hours and emergency situations
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Support audits, inspections, and documentation requirements
  • Drive a strong safety culture and incident prevention mindset
