About The Position

This is more than an Operations Manager position. We're looking for an experienced construction operations leader who wants to become second-in-command of a growing commercial fence company. Initially, you'll work directly alongside the Owner, learning every aspect of the business while gradually assuming greater operational responsibility. The long-term objective is to transition many of the Owner's day-to-day responsibilities to you, allowing the company to continue growing while creating a clear succession path for executive leadership. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of an established and growing organization. The right individual will become a trusted advisor, operational leader, and key decision-maker with the potential to advance into the General Manager role over the next 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the Owner on strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Help establish company priorities, goals, and accountability across all departments.
  • Serve as the Owner's trusted advisor and operational sounding board.
  • Lead meetings and communicate company objectives throughout the organization.
  • Oversee daily operations across estimating, project management, field operations, sales, and administration.
  • Improve communication between office and field teams.
  • Remove operational bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
  • Develop scalable systems and standardized operating procedures.
  • Monitor project profitability and job costing.
  • Review budgets and financial performance.
  • Improve operational efficiencies that positively impact margins.
  • Assist with forecasting and resource planning.
  • Support Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor schedules, manpower, production, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in resolving high-level client concerns and project challenges.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, profitably, and on schedule.
  • Mentor department leaders and supervisors.
  • Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing future leaders.
  • Create measurable performance expectations throughout the organization.
