About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities of warehouse workers engaged in receiving and distributing building material products. This role directly supervises 5-35 employees in the Warehouse and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The position is responsible for maintaining and enforcing all company procedures, policies and practices. To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Management and mentoring of personnel; general people management
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and other Talent Acquisition activities
  • Equipment/Asset Management
  • Scheduling truck routes (only at small DCs)

  • Manage storage bin locations
  • Receiving

  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
  • Issues written and oral instructions

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve safety and efficiency of subordinates
  • Maintains harmony among workers and to assist in resolving grievances
  • Helps prepare composite reports from individual reports of subordinates
  • Works with dedicated carriers for efficient and safe routing of delivery trucks
  • Responsible for coordinating will call orders in safe and service friendly manner
  • Responsible for the maintaining and caring for company owned or leased equipment
  • Accountable to Distribution facility warehouse overtime review and management
  • Accountable and responsible for high standards of warehouse safety, cleanliness and organization
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as requested
  • Is consistently at work and on time
  • Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
