About The Position

Establishes and determines the strategy, policies, and guidelines for Plant Operations in alignment with strategic goals and oversees all assembly and manufacturing activities for the organizational unit. Defines and ensures implementation of corporate approved Plant Operation policies for assigned organization unit(s). Ensures long-term planning of assembly & production resources, derives the respective business and investment plans for all sites. Takes final decision on Plant Operations related budgets and decides budget and resource allocation. Oversees and manages all mission critical Plant operation programs and initiates and oversees continuous development of infrastructure. Ensures effective assembly, production technologies and logistics processes in the plants assigned. Cooperates with BU Executives and leads all operations aspects, esp. in production planning, SCM, Logistics, R&D and Engineering. Advises Executive management in all Plant Operations related matters. Heads overall organization assigned, and leads all related management, professionals and staff. As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire Plant Operation team. The duties include hiring and training staff, relaying information from upper management to the plant personnel about monthly revenue targets and other related KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Min. (15) Years operations Management Experience; preferably in gear, gearbox or power transmission fields.
  • Ability to analyze customer’s technical specifications, mechanical drawings, dimensional tolerancing and data comprehension.
  • Demonstrates a track record of success in managing and optimizing operational processes.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills a must.
  • Strong knowledge of operation processes, logistics and quality controls and provide a foundation for efficient and effective operations.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, workflow optimization and team leadership.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, safety and quality standards.
  • Strong capability in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office tools, Outlook, SAP (a plus) & Team Center (a plus).
  • Familiarity with AGMA, ANSI, ISO, DIN and ASME standards.

  • Preferred education would be in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide robust leadership, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment to achieve operational excellence.
  • Cultivate a collaborative work environment between the plant operations and office staff for seamless coordination and enhanced overall performance.
  • Maintain constant communication with managers of key departments of purchasing, quality, engineering & logistics and ensure all personnel are aligned with company targets.
  • Develop and execute training programs to ensure all plant personnel are equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of plant personnel resources to achieve strategic targets.
  • Manage monthly revenue requirements and resolve bottlenecks/delays to consistently meet on time deliveries (OTD).
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Track product lead times and provide key targeted improvements
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the plant, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Optimizing the use of resources, including personnel, budget and equipment to maximize efficiency.
  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to improve productivity and ensure compliance.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations and industry standards.
