About The Position

The Operations Manager manages the warehouse’s order processing and slab management, along with inner- and outer-company transfers and general trucking logistics. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this role is accountable for operational execution across processes and procedures, including daily execution of operational tasks by the manager and warehouse team to process and load deliveries and support a strong customer experience.

The role includes managing inventory and delivery processes, coordinating communication among branch management, customer service, warehouse personnel, and sales teams, and training warehouse employees. The manager also supports branch operations by working extended shifts, evenings, and rotational Saturdays as needed, and by rotating opening and closing responsibilities with the management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent, or three years of industry experience.
• Availability to work more than 40 hours as needed based on business and customer demands, including nights and weekends.

• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safety-first culture by modeling safe practices.
• Execute daily operational tasks accurately and ensure the warehouse team processes and loads daily deliveries effectively.
• Carry out and follow up on daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks and procedures.
• Proactively execute the IMS delivery tab and manage delivery routes efficiently, cost-effectively, and in support of customer experience.
• Manage cut slab processing and maintain the integrity of cut slab inventory.
• Execute the return slab process and procedures.
• Identify damaged material in IMS and upload photos of damaged material to the server to support accurate web photos and slab sell-through.
• Communicate operational needs and efficiencies to branch management, customer service, warehouse personnel, and inside and outside sales teams.
• Participate in daily and weekly activities to train warehouse employees and develop business operations.
• Manage inbound and outbound inventory processes, including execution of transfer deliveries and inbound transfer inventory.
• Support the selling process by entering purchase requests, scheduling material deliveries, and confirming deliveries in real time.
• Work extended daily shifts, evenings, and rotational Saturdays as needed to support branch operations and sales.
• Rotate opening and closing duties with other members of the management team.
• Listen attentively to customers, make sound business decisions, and respond quickly to customer concerns.
