About The Position

The Operations Manager leads day-to-day manufacturing operations across the CVG campus, with direct accountability for production leadership, work cells, and shift execution. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role drives daily performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People while coordinating closely with Quality, Safety, Test, Engineering, and Facilities to ensure alignment around a single operational plan. The Operations Manager serves as the primary link between the production floor and campus leadership, translating business priorities into disciplined execution and driving timely resolution of operational issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing or operations experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role managing managers or supervisors.
  • Hands-on leader who leads from the front and drives culture and change.
  • Experience in a complex, matrixed, fast-paced manufacturing environment (EMS preferred).
  • Ability to influence peers and functional leaders without direct authority.
  • Strong safety mindset.
  • Working knowledge of operational metrics, labor planning, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency with Workday, SAP (ERP/MES), and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to be on the floor and flex across shifts as the business requires.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production managers, supervisors, and work cell leaders as direct reports, with full accountability for floor performance on all shifts (24/7 operations).
  • Hire, develop, and retain manufacturing leaders. Work with Talent Acquisition on capability requirements and selection criteria.
  • Coach managers on leadership presence, decision-making, performance management, and accountability.
  • Track turnover, engagement, and bench strength in manufacturing, and put retention and succession plans in place for critical roles.
  • Complete direct report performance evaluations accurately, fairly, and on time. Give the Operations Director input on functional managers' performance.
  • Align the functional managers (Quality, Safety, Test, Engineering, Facilities) to manufacturing priorities through daily and weekly forums.
  • Escalate unresolved cross-functional issues to the Operations Director with data and a recommended path forward.
  • Work through peers, without direct authority, to clear the constraints that limit output: test capacity, equipment availability, quality holds, and facility readiness.
  • Share priorities and the build plan so every function knows its part in meeting customer commitments.
  • Set clear, measurable manufacturing goals tied to campus and Business Unit priorities (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and People).
  • Own Daily CAC, run tiered accountability reviews and dashboards, and make sure corrective actions are assigned, tracked, and closed.
  • Give timely, direct feedback based on performance data and what you see on the floor.
  • Lead teams through ramps, escalations, and disruptions while keeping focus and discipline.
  • Keep communication consistent and open across shifts, functions, and frontline teams.
  • Create forums for two-way communication, ideas, and problem-solving.
  • Recognize strong performance fairly and consistently.
  • Adjust communication style to reach different teams across shifts.
  • Turn campus and corporate strategy into executable manufacturing plans.
  • Align work cell execution with customer requirements, capacity plans, and financial targets.
  • Support accurate headcount, capacity, and production forecasting, and compare forecast to actual to spot trends and risks.
  • Reduce cost through process optimization, labor efficiency, and waste elimination, and drive corrective action when targets are missed.
  • Work with Finance, Engineering, and Quality to balance cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Update the Operations Director and Business Unit leadership regularly on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, KPI management, and structured problem-solving (QRQC, RCA, Kaizen).
  • Make sure standard work, procedures, and work instructions are effective, current, and followed.
  • Promote best practices and share learnings with other Jabil sites.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality to improve process capability, yield, and customer satisfaction.
  • Comply with all Jabil policies, including Safety, Quality, Security, and Confidentiality, and lead by example on safety.
