The Operations Manager will supervise day-to-day operations and administrative activities, acting as a liaison between the client and the company. This role facilitates problem-solving between departments, ensures safety practices and regulations are obeyed, and coordinates with Maintenance and Safety Managers to ensure facilities and buses meet safety and environmental standards. The position also focuses on fostering positive employee relations, administering discipline, resolving grievances, and coordinating scheduling for operators, dispatchers, and supervisors. A key aspect of this role is understanding and applying relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and labor/management agreements. The Operations Manager will have shared responsibility for scheduling, employee performance evaluation, run-cutting, rostering, the driver bidding process, and staffing. They will intensely focus on operational KPIs to manage service quality, operational expenses, and explain budget variances, while also supporting the Safety Department in managing injury and collision claims. This role involves setting accurate schedules, minimizing route drive times and mileage within contractual and regulatory mandates, and providing timely operational and financial reporting. The Operations Manager ensures purchases adhere to company processes and policies, analyzes situations, identifies problems, implements solutions, and evaluates outcomes. They will prepare reports and correspondence, interact positively with the union, and monitor operations to ensure service delivery to the public remains on schedule and professional.
