About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to join our waste and recycling management team! Coastal Waste & Recycling is a growing, privately owned, locally operated solid waste disposal and recycling company headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, serving communities across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina (with more to come)! Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as an operations manager or supervisor, preferably in the waste management or transportation industry
  • In-depth knowledge of waste management practices, regulations, and safety standards
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and other relevant computer applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed

Nice To Haves

  • bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the activities of waste collection, disposal, and recycling teams
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards
  • Develop, implement, and optimize operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality
  • Analyze and monitor operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
  • Lead, manage, and train staff, providing coaching and guidance to ensure high performance
  • Work closely with other departments to optimize route planning and resource allocation
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Maintain detailed operational records, including service logs, maintenance schedules, and compliance reports
  • Oversee regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe working environment
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition
