About The Position

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is seeking a highly organized and proactive Operations Manager-North. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and facilities of assigned Forest Preserve District properties, which include trails, campgrounds, amenities, and structures. The Operations Manager will report to the Director of Operations and lead staff through hiring, training, mentoring, scheduling, performance management, and daily work assignments.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in facility management, parks and recreation, or a related field.
6–8 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Valid Illinois driver’s license.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to obtain required certifications such as CPR/First Aid/AED, CDL Class A, Pesticide Applicator, and prescribed burn certifications within one year of employment.
Minimum Age Requirement: 21 years of age.
Ability to safely operate and oversee equipment such as dump trucks, trailers, tractors, loaders, and other maintenance vehicles.

Nice To Haves

Preferred five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Equivalent combination of education and training.

Responsibilities
