About The Position

Burrow Global Fabrication is seeking an experienced Operation Manager for our Jacksonville FL fabrication facility. Candidates with steel fabrication experience will rise to the top of the interview list. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering projects from the conceptual stages through planning, procurement and fabrication. The Operations Manager will supervise the development of budgets and schedules, manage performance, report progress, and initiate action to ensure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications. Primary Job Function: Ensuing that the Current/Existing accounts remain intact and meets customer satisfaction and financial goals and budgets. Ensuring the projects are done to the highest standards and meets the set KPIs which may vary by project/client. Assisting in meeting financial goals and budgets Maintaining a safe working environment that is “employee friendly”, Maintaining good relations with employees, outside suppliers and third parties, and Ensuring the high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business. Manage the day to day activities of the Business Unit technical personnel in a manner consistent with the core values set by the BG, LLC board of directors and founder, Establish annual goals and objectives consistent with the Business Unit’s plans, Establish annual budgets and monitor for compliance, Assist with developing a marketing plan and implementing a strategic marketing plan, Work with Safety to develop and implement plans to insure the health and safety of all BG employees, Encourage an entrepreneurial spirit within the group while also setting boundaries for doing business (levels of authority), Establish a growth culture that makes consistent profits commensurate with industry peer groups, Ensure projects meet the best industry standards that will insure client satisfaction, Any other objectives as set by management that are consistent with the company’s core values and strategic objectives. Effectively plan, schedule, and manage projects to meet customers’ needs and expectations, and ensure the target profit levels are met for the project. Define and communicate roles, responsibilities and authorities to team members/partners and the customer to ensure project completion in a safe manner, within budget, on schedule, and in conformance with the appropriate standards, specifications and applicable regulatory requirements. Monitor all contractual commitments to ensure that all work is being performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings and terms of the contract, that a trend program is in place that change orders and claims are processed in a timely manner. Approve bid tabulations for commitments on all major purchase orders and approves critical changes to these documents in accordance with the Burrow Global, LLC procedures. Review invoices and applications for payment to assure accuracy of tabulations, accuracy of completion percentage, and recommend approval or disapproval. Conduct meetings with clients to provide project status updates which can include, but not limited to, projected crew work schedules, revisions to scope (change control form) and schedule. Conduct internal company meetings to coordinate project administration, material availability, construction activity and resolve project problems. Ensure fabrication activities are performed safely and effectively according to the Burrow Global, LLC EHS Policy. Monitor the material delivery effort to ensure proper material order is met in regard to contract commitments. Ensure the following documents are completed with proper review: plans, schedule, change control forms, weekly and monthly projection reports, project status reports and any other applicable documentation. Complete all items required to close out project and organize project post-job reviews to ensure that all Burrow Global LLC documents are complete. Provide leadership and training to project personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of Fabrication project management experience including project scoping and estimating, cost and schedule control, design and management, team building, resource planning, procurement, and execution.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.
  • Must be capable of higher-level thinking and growth in support of business development and management reporting.
  • Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
  • Displays tactful, mature and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel.
  • Complies with the Burrow Global, LLC policies and procedures.
  • Complies with the Burrow Global, LLC Drug & Alcohol Policy maintaining favorable drug testing results throughout employment.
  • Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety.
