About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable performance. This role has direct accountability for production output, process improvement, quality performance, employee development, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The Operations Manager will drive a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring the organization's goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development are consistently achieved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing supervisors and hourly workforces in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence principles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive change and influence across all organizational levels.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Financial understanding of manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, quality costs, and operational performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain standard work, operating procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and flow.
  • Drive operational excellence through data-driven decision making.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while achieving safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly productivity metrics and implement actions to improve performance.
  • Optimize labor utilization, equipment effectiveness, and material flow.
  • Manage capacity planning to support current and future customer demand.
  • Maintain accountability for meeting plant KPIs including productivity, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues.
  • Partner with Quality teams to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Promote a culture of quality ownership throughout the organization.
  • Establish preventive measures to improve first-pass yield and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and hourly employees.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, training, and workforce planning.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met regarding quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to address customer needs.
  • Resolve operational issues that may impact customer satisfaction.
  • Support initiatives that enhance customer experience and strengthen business relationships.
  • Drive improvements that result in improved service levels and reduced lead times.
  • Champion safety as the highest operational priority.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, company, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the operation.
