Operations Leader (Manufacturing Supervisor, PLC)

We’re hiring an Operations Leader (Production Supervisor) to drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations in Vandergrift, PA. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll lead teams, optimize PLC systems, and implement Lean manufacturing strategies that directly impact output and cost performance. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technical field OR 4+ years in manufacturing leadership
- Strong experience in industrial manufacturing environments (steel, metals, chemicals)
- Hands-on expertise with PLC systems, motor controls, and power distribution
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints
- Proven team leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and production management systems
- Ability to commute to Vandergrift, PA 15690
- Ability to relocate to Vandergrift, PA 15690 with an employer-provided relocation package
Nice To Haves
- Experience in heavy industrial or process manufacturing
- Knowledge of annealing, pickling, or similar processes
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks
- Exposure to automation or smart manufacturing systems
Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, and productivity KPIs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to reduce downtime and increase throughput
- Supervise and mentor teams, improving engagement, training, and performance outcomes
- Optimize and troubleshoot PLC systems, electrical systems, and production equipment
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies to improve uptime and reduce failures
- Analyze production data to uncover cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
