About The Position

The Operations Lead directs the logistics efforts of the distribution center and assists with loading and unloading product in the warehouse and performing other material handling operations as needed. This role protects the accuracy, integrity, and salability of client's inventory through adherence to standard operating procedures and meeting physical inventory and/or cycle count accuracy expectations. The Operations Lead directs the appropriate warehousing team, runs necessary reports to determine effective action to maximize building capacity, and completes all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents. They read and understand general instructions, prepare written reports, and use the company’s warehouse management system and timekeeping system. The role involves handling all products according to customer and employer procedures, communicating changes in extraordinary handling procedures to office personnel, and completing warehouse worksheets. The Operations Lead communicates and advises the Supervisor of operational issues that may involve other departments, understands company goals, and works to create an environment for success. They support company safety, quality, and productivity initiatives and interact with various levels of local management concerning daily activities. Compliance with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual is expected, along with effective communication with Transportation, Warehouse, Management, Co-workers, and Customers. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of previous Operations Lead experience in a distribution center
  • 2 years of Forklift experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Warehouse Management System experience
  • Must be able to excel in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be comfortable leading teams to achieve safety, productivity and quality goals
  • Must be "hands on"
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to hear, read and comprehend, write, and communicate
  • Ability to continuously sit, type, and perform repetitive wrist motion
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach
  • Ability to focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
  • Ability to work with material handling equipment that must be operated according to specific operating procedures
  • Ability to spend 95% of time on warehouse floor in fast-paced environment
