About The Position

The Operations Lead runs the operating system behind the Specialty Care GBU’s strategy and operations agenda. Sitting within the Strategy & Operations team, you will own the execution of the integrated planning cycle, performance and KPI management, operational governance, and the running of the function itself, so that strategy is set, tracked, and delivered through a disciplined operating rhythm. Reporting to the Global Head of Strategy & Operations, Specialty Care GBU, this is a senior individual leadership role that will focus on the operational execution and systematic implementation of strategic decisions, working in close partnership with the Chief of Staff who provides strategic advisory support to the EVP. While the Chief of Staff will help shape GBU strategy and drive executive effectiveness, the Operations Lead ensures disciplined execution and operational excellence at an organizational level. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy and operations, or business management within a large, matrixed organization; biopharma experience is an advantage.
  • A track record of owning planning cycles, performance management, and operational governance, and of running them with discipline and at pace.
  • Experience coordinating budgets, headcount, and resources for a team or function.
  • Skilled at translating senior leadership decisions into operational requirements and providing operational feasibility input on strategic initiatives.
  • Operating discipline: builds and runs the planning, governance, and performance systems that keep a complex organization on track.
  • Analytical and financial fluency - comfortable with creating KPIs and financial planning, and able to turn data into management insight.
  • Organization and prioritization - manages multiple workstreams and deadlines without losing the detail.
  • Influence: strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the credibility to hold others to shared timelines without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and operationalize the GBU's strategic planning decisions in line with the company’s strategic and financial planning calendar; translating strategic priorities into detailed operational plans, resource allocation, and implementation roadmaps
  • Keep the GBU’s planning aligned with the corporate cycle, so strategic priorities, resources, and milestones stay connected.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the GBU’s strategic plans and priorities, providing the structure and inputs on which leadership decisions depend.
  • Design and maintain GBU-level operational KPIs and metrics that support the execution of strategic objectives, focusing on process efficiency, resource utilization, and operational performance indicators
  • Track the delivery of strategic initiatives and priorities against milestones, surfacing risks and slippage early.
  • Give leadership a reliable, current view of how the GBU is performing against its strategic goals.
  • Help design and execute the operational governance framework, ensuring strategic decisions are implemented through structured processes, milestone tracking, and operational reviews
  • Maintain the governance framework for strategic initiatives, including clear ownership, stage gates, and reporting.
  • Own the operating model and ways of working of the Strategy & Operations function, improving how the team delivers.
  • Coordinate the function’s budget, headcount, and resource planning, and manage its key tools, vendors, and operational processes.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to make the team and function more effective and efficient.
