Operations Laboratory Coordinator

About The Position

Oversees special projects and implementations for the clinic lab department. Responsible for various administrative oversight to include operational implementations, SOP's and data management. Plans and implements lab education and training for the clinics. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years Healthcare/Medical - Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technician
  • Associates Degree Medical Technology Required, or Bachelor's Degree Related Field
  • ASCP or AMT certification as Medical Technician (MLT) equivalent or higher

Responsibilities

  • Supervises administrative and educational initiatives, functions independently demonstrating knowledge and application of theoretical principles of clinical laboratory science.
  • Provides instruction for personnel within the clinics regarding best practices within the lab both technically and financially.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of operational plans for the laboratory and management of departmental materials according to CMS, CLIA and/COLA requirements.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining current department policy and procedures in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards; ensure departmental compliance.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of content, procedures and documentation used for instruction new employees and students.
  • Assists in the oversight of fiscal responsibilities for the lab and our patients by monitoring testing compliance and prior authorizations.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency, including completion of all departmental requirements.
  • Assists with the coordination, implementation and oversight of various special projects and implementations.
