About The Position
This role involves various material handling and processing tasks within a recycling facility. Key duties include operating recycling equipment, managing yard vehicle traffic, performing light facility maintenance, and ensuring consistent housekeeping and waste disposal practices for safety and hygiene.
Requirements
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Material handling and sorting including pushing, pulling, picking, lifting, carrying, and filling hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts.
- Operating recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers.
- Directing traffic of yard vehicles.
- Performing light facility maintenance tasks like painting, scraping, and moving furniture and equipment.
- Conducting housekeeping duties such as sweeping, cleaning, shoveling, and debris collection.
- Cleaning up the work area at the end of each shift.
- Keeping work areas neat and orderly.
- Organizing materials for effective space utilization.
- Disposing of various waste materials appropriately.
- Ensuring cleanup is completed through inspection.
- Maintaining effective housekeeping for safety and hygienic conditions.
