About The Position

This role involves a variety of manual labor tasks in an operations setting. Key responsibilities include unloading materials, sorting and handling items, unpacking and disassembling products and equipment, and working with recycling machinery. The position also requires directing yard vehicle traffic, performing light facility maintenance and landscaping, assisting with machinery repair, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Regular attendance, punctuality, and effective housekeeping are essential for safety and hygiene.

Requirements

Regular attendance and punctuality
Ability to use box cutters
Ability to work with recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saw and wire strippers
Ability to direct traffic of yard vehicles
Ability to perform light facility maintenance (painting, scraping, moving furniture and equipment)
Ability to select and use tools properly
Ability to pull and install parts for machinery
Ability to work with other employees to assist machinery repair
Ability to sweep, clean, shovel, and collect debris
Ability to perform moderate and periodic landscaping work
Ability to clean up work area at the end of shift
Ability to keep work areas neat and orderly
Ability to organize materials for effective use of space
Ability to dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
Ability to inspect cleanup completion

Responsibilities

Unloading pallets, boxes, and bundles
Material handling / sorting – pushing, pulling, picking, lifting, carrying, and filling up hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts
Unpacking boxes using box cutters, separating plastics, zip ties, blister packs, and other packaging materials
Disassembling small equipment, cutting wires, torquing pipefittings, removing bolts, automobile parts, and appliance parts
Working with recycling equipment for processing metal product e.g. metal shears, band saw and wire strippers
Directing traffic of yard vehicles traveling through yard
Light facility maintenance – painting, scraping, moving furniture and equipment
Maintenance – selecting and using tools properly, pulling and installing parts for machinery, working with other employees to assist machinery repair
Housekeeping – sweeping, cleaning, shoveling, and debris collection
Moderate and periodic landscaping work
Cleaning up work area at the end of shift
Keeping work areas neat and orderly
Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
Disposing of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
Maintaining effective housekeeping in workplace area for safety and hygienic conditions
