Operations Internship: Summer 2027
About The Position
Susquehanna participates in millions of trades on exchanges around the world every day. Our operations team manages the infrastructure that allows these trades to move forward with speed and accuracy. As an Operations intern, you will be working closely with the trading desks and other teams that support our trading businesses. Throughout the ten-week internship, you will work on a variety of analytical projects that impact multiple areas of the business and introduce you to current challenges facing our industry. Past projects include trading and profit + loss analytics, automation of operational processes, and research of new business opportunities.
Requirements
- Students pursuing a degree in Finance, Math, Computer Science or a related major with intention to graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree within one year of the internship program
- Ability to collaborate with a team while having the confidence to work independently
- Candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit who are flexible and have a commitment to innovation
- Desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience with Python, HTML, VBA or SQL
Responsibilities
- Work closely with trading desks and other teams that support trading businesses.
- Work on a variety of analytical projects that impact multiple areas of the business.
- Analyze trading data to help make better future decisions.
- Ensure correction of any trade breaks that would expose the firm to financial risk.
- Improve the efficiency with which the lifecycle of a trade is completed.
- Automate operational processes.
- Research new business opportunities.
