About The Position

The Operations Intern supports the day-to-day work across Giant Noise's Human Resources, Operations, and Finance teams, gaining hands-on experience across a range of internal business functions. This role involves working closely with designated teams to gain exposure to administrative operations, systems management, reporting, and cross-functional project support. The position offers a practical look at how core business functions operate together and is designed for someone eager to learn, stay highly organized, and contribute to a variety of ongoing initiatives. This is a temporary part-time internship (approximately 15 hours per week), running from August 17 through May 7, compensated at $15 per hour. The role is based in Austin, TX and is hybrid, with regular in-office presence expected and some flexibility for remote work depending on team needs and schedule.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s program in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Availability to commit to 15 hours per week on a consistent schedule
  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking, especially with operational or financial data
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Comfortable working independently and across multiple teams
  • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to support a range of business functions

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, part-time work, or coursework in HR, finance, or operations preferred
  • Familiarity with tools such as Paylocity, Harvest, or QuickBooks is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding processes, including preparing materials, system setup, and scheduling orientation
  • Maintain and update employee records, org charts, and HR databases
  • Assist with recruitment tasks such as job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
  • Support compliance efforts including document filing, retention, and policy documentation
  • Help administer employee surveys and compile results
  • Assist with ongoing HR projects and initiatives as needed
  • Coordinate logistics for employee engagement activities, team events, and internal communications
  • Provide general administrative support including data entry and document management
  • Support operational projects through research, data collection, and tracking deliverables
  • Help identify inefficiencies and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with day-to-day office operations and special projects
  • Support the Finance team with a variety of administrative and operational tasks
  • Assist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and account reconciliation support
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Contribute to finance-related projects as needed
