Intern - Operations
About The Position
The Intern is responsible for learning the business lines of the company while also aiding in the impact of daily goals & productivity within the logistics operations. This is an 8-week paid internship from June to August with an hourly pay rate of $23/hr. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Currently pursuing an associates of bachelor’s degree from a 2 or 4 year college or university preferably with a Supply Chain, Logistics, Freight Forwarding or Transportation concentration/focus.
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Responsibilities
- Collect data analytical information for dedicated business unit
- Develops and maintains weekly reports on findings within the operational task force
- Support the daily operational focus and or initiatives by helping productivity
- Participate in team projects and presentations on lessons learned to the leadership at the end of the rotation
- Other duties as required and assigned
