About The Position

Our 2027 Operations Internship gives you the opportunity to rotate and work in multiple departments in our hotels. You will learn about the hospitality industry while working in a fun and fast-paced environment. Specific hotel placement will be discussed upon submission of an internship offer. Our internship begins in June.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hotel/Hospitality Management, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence to provide feedback to management.
  • Strong follow through.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Fully onsite internship.
  • Candidates must reside in the internship city for the duration of the program.
  • Candidates must be available to work onsite as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Effectively listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
