About The Position

As an intern with Textron, you’ll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success. The Operation Intern involves planning, organizing and controlling manpower cost, continuity of production flow according to schedules and the maintenance and improvement of quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
  • Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
  • Textron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S. export control laws. If a position requires access to information controlled under U.S. regulations applicant must be eligible to meet any requirements to access controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in safety, quality, meeting schedules and efficiency of operations.
  • Interaction with team members regarding workmanship, efficiencies and safe working conditions as well as identifying ergonomic opportunities.
  • Implements lean manufacturing processes and practices as well as coordinates all area development events.
  • Holds weekly project updated.
  • May assist the Value Stream Manager is monitoring daily production operations through continuing efficiency, aircraft production and budget reports.
