About The Position

McGill Environmental Systems is hiring an Intake Technician to support the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt of incoming materials at our facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, paying attention to detail, and supporting both operational and environmental compliance efforts. As an Intake Technician, you'll serve as a critical link between incoming material acceptance, quality assurance programs, and production operations. You'll help inspect incoming loads, collect samples, maintain accurate records, support compliance requirements, and assist with daily site operations. Your attention to detail helps ensure materials are received safely, processed correctly, and meet company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and around active equipment
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday
  • Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and industrial vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving and inspecting incoming loads
  • Collect and prepare material samples according to company procedures
  • Verify load information and support acceptance processes
  • Identify and communicate concerns regarding incoming materials
  • Maintain accurate receiving logs, inspection reports, and supporting documentation
  • Conduct sampling and testing activities as required
  • Assist with quality assurance monitoring and data collection
  • Record test results and maintain organized documentation
  • Support compliance with permits, regulations, and operating procedures
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting activities
  • Monitor and record site water usage and operational metrics
  • Help maintain clean, safe, and organized pit, pad, and tipping areas
  • Assist with work-in-progress materials and windrow establishment
  • Support material movement and daily operational activities
  • Perform routine housekeeping and site maintenance duties
  • Follow all company safety policies and environmental procedures
  • Maintain awareness around active equipment and vehicle traffic
  • Identify and report safety concerns
  • Participate in safety initiatives and corrective actions
