About The Position

Habitat Management (HMI), an Aventia company, is an environmental consulting firm focused on ecological restoration and land management. We are looking for a hands-on Operations Foreman who enjoys leading crews, solving problems in the field, caring for equipment, and helping disturbed landscapes recover. Habitat Management, LLC is seeking a dependable and motivated Operations Foreman to oversee vegetation management, land reclamation, and revegetation projects throughout the region.

Requirements

  • At least two years of related experience in fieldwork, reporting, data analysis, recordkeeping, or project coordination.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel to remote job sites, occasionally for extended assignments.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule based on project needs, including occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • A valid United States-issued driver's license.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S.-issued driver’s license.
  • Must obtain Colorado and New Mexico pesticide supervisor/applicator credentials in applicable categories, including rangeland or agricultural weeds, right-of-way, and aquatic pest control.
  • Must renew Mine Safety and Health Administration certification annually.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in vegetation management projects, including herbicide application and mechanical weed control.
  • Identify regional noxious and nuisance weed species and understand the appropriate timing and methods for controlling them.
  • Oversee land reclamation and revegetation projects across Aventia's market sectors.
  • Read and interpret landscaping plans and specifications to ensure projects are completed according to requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, repair, and organize the equipment and tools needed for assigned projects.
  • Collect and analyze biotic and abiotic field data.
  • Supervise seasonal employees and provide clear direction during active field assignments.
  • Promote safe work practices and exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of company facilities, vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including crew hours and detailed daily activity notes, labor, equipment, and materials entries in Deltek Vantagepoint, receipts and mileage documentation, daily dashboards, herbicide application records, and GIS field data.
