This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are looking for a motivated, analytical, critical thinker who has a track record of analytical problem solving to join our team. As a capital business partner supporting the Operations Finance organization, you will drive key initiatives to ensure financial resources are efficiently utilized to grow the business and rapidly scale production. You will provide insights to business leadership and develop tools to enable critical investment decisions. In this role, you will apply fundamentals of investment analysis, project management, leading and ensuring successful execution of initiatives which will help our business progress and meet their goals. We are seeking a storyteller, who can clearly articulate complex concepts and translate numeric financial results into meaningful programmatic and operational performance narratives. The individual should possess excellent financial acumen and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will be working day to day using Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting, Artificial Intelligence tools to increase efficiency, OneStream (Blue Origin’s Financial Planning tool) and Costpoint (Accounting system). This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! This role is available on-site in Kent, Washington with relocation provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other highly analytical field
  • 5+ years of financial and business analytics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a self-motivator.
  • Ability to develop Return on Investment and perform sensitivity analysis across multiple scenarios
  • Strong analytical skill set and high attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, SQL
  • Experience in helping business leaders meet financial targets and deliver results
  • Understanding of underlying business processes and the impact of financial decisions
  • Strong skills in running meetings and preparing executive-level presentations
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Responsibilities

  • Be the Capital business partner for multi-site factories
  • Develop financially optimal production strategies
  • Assess capital investment impact to production capacity
  • Perform cost benefit analysis for advanced manufacturing assets
  • Calculate return on investment for production automation initiatives
  • Provide actionable insights into factory financial performance and drive actions to closure
  • Utilize advanced AI tools to develop software that improves process and enhances financial transparency
  • Manage end of month business rhythm and deliverables
  • Data mining across multiple data sets; Databricks; SQL
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly/quarterly financial and metric report outs for Operations and Finance Leadership
  • Identify operational and financial risk & opportunities with potential solutions; assist with recovery plan development
  • Analyze and report financial performance variances of actuals to budget and forecast
