About The Position

This co-op position is within the Raytheon Technologies Operations organization, focusing on Operations, Quality Assurance, and Lean Manufacturing techniques. The Operations Engineering Specialist will participate in a complex manufacturing project environment, learning about the manufacturing process and contributing to innovative solutions for systems supporting homeland and missile defense strategies. Responsibilities may include video production, optimizing production with manufacturing teams, and supporting engineering on the production floor. The organization is aligned with Six Sigma principles, and a key component of this co-op will be completing a project leading to the CORE Apprentice certification (RTX's version of a Six Sigma/Lean Yellow Belt). The co-op will also review business systems and implement new techniques within production areas, gaining exposure to Performance Excellence, Integrated Supply Chain, Hardware Quality, and Production Engineering.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a Bachelor or advanced degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering, plastics engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering or applied mathematics or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major, and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Experience with project execution
Experience with Microsoft office tools
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
