About The Position

The Mosaic Company is seeking an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern for Spring 2027 at its Riverview Manufacturing Facility. This role provides technical support to plant operations, focusing on troubleshooting complex systems and optimizing production processes. Interns will learn from Professional Engineers, work on exciting projects, and gain experience with a global leader in agriculture. The position is a full-time, on-site co-op/internship typically lasting 36-40 hours per week, with a potential 9/80 schedule. Housing and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Junior level or higher by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve root causes of issues in sulfuric processing and production systems.
  • Improve the efficiency of converter systems, water treatment, and overall sulfuric acid plant systems.
  • Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Sulfuric Acid department.
  • Observe work during a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of digital tools for operations.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), maintenance, automation, lab personnel, and contractors.
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
